Job Title: Food Services Aid (Support Services)

The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is responsible for providing public healthcare services to the people of the Western Cape. We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Food Services Aid.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Basic literacy and numeracy (First School Leaving Certificate).
- Experience: Previous experience working in a large-scale industrial kitchen or food service environment.
Key Responsibilities and Physical Demands
This is a physically active role that requires the following:
- A willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- The ability to work comfortably in cold environments, such as large-scale freezers and cold rooms.
- The physical strength to lift heavy objects and remain standing for the duration of the workday.
Skills and Competencies
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- The ability to follow standardized recipes to prepare meals.
- Knowledge of National Food Service Guidelines.
- An understanding of how to clean and maintain industrial kitchen equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- The ability to perform tasks accurately while under pressure.
