Role Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Food Services Assistant to join our team at one of our sites in Durban. You will be responsible for food production, front-of-house service, and ensuring that all health, safety, and food hygiene standards are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with company regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure food quality standards are met.
  • Assist with the preparation of meals, specifically salads and desserts.
  • Set up the serving line and keep it clean and well-stocked throughout the shift.
  • Properly store and record any food leftovers.
  • Ensure the canteen tables, kitchen, and all work areas are kept tidy and organized.
  • Perform stock counts and hand over responsibilities to the next shift accurately.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Address customer complaints or compliments professionally and take action where needed.

Skills and Requirements

  • Ability to follow instructions clearly and work independently.
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene and safety standards.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Must have a National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in hospitality, cleaning, or a similar environment is preferred.
