We are currently seeking a professional and experienced Foreman for Facility Maintenance to join our engineering and technical team.
Role Overview
The Foreman: Facility Maintenance will be responsible for overseeing the upkeep and improvement of municipal buildings and facilities. This role involves supervising staff, managing equipment, and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and within budget.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent technical qualification.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar maintenance environment.
- At least one year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- A valid Code B Driver’s License.
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral).
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve conflicts.
- Proficiency in using manual and electrical tools and machinery.
- Computer literacy.
- Must meet the competency requirements as set out in the Local Government: Municipal Staff Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Manage staff performance, handle internal grievances, and ensure disciplinary procedures are followed.
- Maintenance Planning: Plan, coordinate, and monitor the maintenance, development, and upgrading of municipal facilities.
- Resource Management: Control and maintain vehicles, machinery, and tools used by the team.
- Service Requests: Review maintenance requests from various buildings and provide recommendations to management for implementation.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgets and ensure all activities follow the Supply Chain Management Policy and procedures.
- Administration: Complete all necessary administrative tasks and reporting related to facility maintenance.
