Job Opportunity: Frontshop Assistant – Die Boord (Paarl)
Dis-Chem Pharmacies, South Africa’s leading pharmaceutical retailer, is looking for a professional and energetic Frontshop Assistant to join our team at the Die Boord store in Paarl.
Role Overview
In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining high merchandising standards and providing excellent customer service at the point of sale. You will ensure the store is well-stocked, correctly priced, and welcoming for all our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Merchandising: Ensure shelves are fully stocked, neatly organized, and that products are rotated to prevent expired stock.
- Pricing: Verify that all merchandise has the correct labels and prices. Report any discrepancies to management.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with inquiries, provide product information, and maintain a friendly, professional attitude.
- Sales & Payments: Process payments accurately, including cash, cards, and vouchers. Handle loyalty card transactions and ensure secure cash handling.
- Stock Management: Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing the storeroom, and participating in regular stocktakes.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe shopping environment in accordance with company standards and health and safety rules.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) or Senior Certificate.
- Experience: 0 to 6 months of retail experience (1 year preferred).
- Skills: Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook) and fundamental math skills.
- Legal: South African citizenship with a clear criminal and credit record.
- Transport: Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
Essential Competencies
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems and follow store procedures.
- Excellent time management and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work retail hours.
