Role Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Frontshop Assistant to join our Heidelberg store. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high merchandising standards and ensuring that the shop floor is well-stocked, organized, and inviting for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock Management: Restock shelves regularly to maximize sales. Ensure that new stock and items from the storeroom are packed in the correct locations immediately.
  • Quality Control: Use the “First In, First Out” (FIFO) principle to ensure product freshness. Monitor expiry dates and report any damaged or low-stock items to management.
  • Merchandising: Maintain neat and tidy displays. Ensure all products are correctly labeled and priced. Build and maintain promotional displays according to company standards.
  • Store Operations: Keep the storeroom and shop floor clean and organized. Assist with stocktaking, cycle counts, and the loading or off-loading of deliveries.
  • Customer Service: Provide friendly and helpful advice to customers. Follow up on stock queries and ensure all customer concerns are resolved promptly.
  • Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Experience: 0–6 months of retail experience is required; 1 year of experience is preferred.
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen or hold a valid work permit.
  • Background: Clear credit and criminal records.
  • Transport: A valid driver’s license or access to reliable transport.

Skills and Competencies

  • Honest, trustworthy, and accountable.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Knowledge of FMCG industry standards or planograms is an advantage.

Remuneration

We offer a market-related salary for this position.
