Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated General Assistant to join our Paint Department. In this role, you will provide vital support to our production and quality teams. Your primary goal is to ensure that operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently by assisting with material handling, equipment operation, and maintaining a clean workspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production Support: Load and offload products on the production lines to meet daily targets.
  • Quality Control: Monitor production processes and visually inspect products to identify and report any defects immediately.
  • Material Handling: Move raw materials, profiles, and finished goods to designated areas. Stacks products according to layout plans.
  • Inventory & Logistics: Pick and strap materials for transport. Move containers and assist with general warehouse duties.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate logs of production numbers, equipment downtime, and wastage.
  • Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean work environment through regular sweeping and organizing. Conduct routine safety inspections and report any hazards or maintenance needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
  • Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • License: A valid forklift license is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with health and safety regulations is an advantage.
  • Flexibility: Must be willing to work shifts, including overtime and staggered break schedules.

Work Environment

The successful candidate must be physically fit and prepared to work within a fast-paced production environment. You should be a team player who is willing to assist other departments when required to ensure the company meets its customer commitments.
