We are currently looking for a motivated General Assistant to join our team in Sunnydale, Cape Town.
Role Overview
As a General Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our store. Your goal is to provide excellent service, maintain well-stocked shelves, and ensure a clean, welcoming shopping environment for all our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide accurate product information to help them make the best choices.
- Sales Support: Inform customers about current sales and special offers to enhance their shopping experience.
- Transaction Handling: Process cash and card payments accurately, issue receipts, and manage refunds or exchanges professionally.
- Stock Management: Receive and organize new deliveries, keep track of inventory, and ensure shelves are neatly packed and fully stocked at all times.
- Store Maintenance: Keep designated areas like the storeroom and kitchen clean. Ensure waste is disposed of correctly in the appropriate bins.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and security procedures to maintain a safe environment for everyone.
- Team Support: Assist with regular stock takes and perform other general tasks as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Education: A valid Matric certificate.
- Experience: Previous experience as a General Assistant or General Worker is preferred.
- Location: Must live within 25km of the Sunnydale branch.
- Background: A clear criminal record is essential.
- Skills: A positive attitude, a friendly personality, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced retail environment.
