We are currently looking for a motivated General Assistant to join our team in Umzimkulu, KwaZulu-Natal. This is a full-time position focused on delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high store standards.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate OR a Grade 10 (NQF 3) with at least one year of related work experience.
- The ability to communicate clearly in English and the local language spoken in the Umzimkulu area.
- A valid South African ID or a valid work permit.
- Basic math skills for accurate calculations.
- A flexible approach to work, including the willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers by providing advice on the right products for their needs.
- Help resolve customer queries and complaints professionally.
Merchandising and Housekeeping
- Pack and display stock safely according to the store layout and plans.
- Ensure all products have the correct price labels.
- Keep your assigned area clean, tidy, and free of obstacles so customers can shop safely.
- Complete daily cleaning checklists for staff facilities.
Safety and Stock Management
- Follow all safety (OHSA) rules, including using safety gear and ensuring a safe environment for staff and customers.
- Report any safety hazards or broken equipment to the Store Manager.
- Identify and report any damaged stock to help manage stock losses.
