Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead our Housing Planning and Strategy department. The successful candidate will oversee urban development initiatives, ensure legal compliance, and manage strategic human settlement projects.
Requirements
- A Degree or Honours Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, City Planning, or Town Planning.
- Professional registration with SACPLAN as a Professional Planner.
- A valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
- High level of computer literacy.
- At least ten (10) years of experience in City and Regional Planning, including five (5) years at a Senior Management level.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of overall municipal policies and strategies.
- Create and implement standard operating procedures for the department.
- Identify and manage key intervention areas for human settlements.
- Address and resolve audit findings with effective corrective measures.
- Conduct housing needs assessments and lead urban environmental planning activities.
- Ensure all departmental actions comply with relevant legal frameworks and regulations.
