About the Job

We are looking for a dedicated Tyre Fitter to join our team in Johannesburg. This is a full‑time, permanent position that requires hands‑on work with vehicle tyres and a commitment to safety and quality.

About the Role

As a Tyre Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, removing, and maintaining tyres on a variety of vehicles, from passenger cars to heavy trucks. Your work ensures that vehicles operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Mount new tyres onto rims using appropriate machinery.
• Clean and paint rims before fitting tyres.
• Fit wheels onto vehicles correctly and match dual wheels.
• Inflate tyres to manufacturer specifications.
• Check tyre pressure and torque; tighten wheel nuts to spec.
• Report any defects (studs, washers, wheel nuts) to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and store tools properly.
• Adhere to health and safety standards and use personal protective equipment.
• Complete tyre change slips and survey reports accurately.
• Clock in and out on time and sign the time register.
• Assist customers with a friendly attitude and professional service.
• Understand basic operation of lifting equipment, wheel alignment, and suspension components.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.

Skills:

• Basic knowledge of tyre types, sizes, and handling.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Forklift or machinery operation certification is a plus.
• Computer literacy.
• Experience in the tyre industry is an advantage.

Languages

English is required. Knowledge of local languages is a plus.
