Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 10 (Standard 8) education.
- Valid Certificate of Competency in Operating a Grader or Heavy Duty Plant.
- Code C1 driving license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Practical knowledge of roadbuilding techniques, including slope, elevation, and fine/rough grading.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in plant operation.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Receiving and carrying out daily instructions and task details from the supervisor.
- Performing pre-start and post-task inspections, including checking safety devices, controls, and lubricant levels.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and community members on-site to confirm project specifications.
- Operating and maneuvering the Grader to perform digging, demolition, loading, and leveling sequences.
- Identifying and reporting potential site conflicts or operational issues to the immediate superior.
- Providing support and information to management to help resolve site-related challenges.
