We are looking for a dedicated Hot Foods General Assistant to join our team in Johannesburg South. This is a full-time position for someone who is passionate about customer service and retail excellence.
Job Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent service to our customers while ensuring the store remains well-stocked and clean. You will handle everything from customer inquiries and payments to inventory management and general maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and answer questions about our products.
- Provide accurate information to help customers make the best choices.
- Handle cash and card payments accurately and process receipts or refunds.
- Inform customers about current sales and special promotions.
- Receive new deliveries, organize the storeroom, and keep track of stock levels.
- Restock shelves quickly and ensure products are displayed neatly.
- Assist with regular stock takes to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by cleaning the kitchen, storeroom, and designated areas.
- Dispose of waste properly and follow all safety and security procedures.
Requirements
- Education: Matric certificate.
- Experience: Previous experience as a General Assistant, General Worker, or in a “Back of House” retail/kitchen role.
- Location: Must live within 25km of Johannesburg South.
- Record: A clear criminal record is required.
Preferences
- South African citizens.
- Candidates between the ages of 30 and 47.
