Human Resources Practitioner: HR Practices, Organisation Strategy and Planning

The Mpumalanga Office of the Premier is dedicated to improving provincial planning, monitoring government performance, and ensuring effective coordination of policies and programs. We are currently seeking a professional and experienced Human Resources Practitioner to join our team in Mpumalanga.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Human Resource Management, Public Management, or a related field.
• Experience: At least three (3) years of relevant experience in Human Resource Management. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Recruitment and Utilisation within the Public Service.

Key Competencies and Skills

• Deep understanding of the legislative frameworks governing the Public Service.
• Specialized knowledge of Recruitment and Utilisation management.
• Proficiency in the Persal system (this is a significant advantage).
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent people management skills and computer literacy.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Preparing formal submissions regarding staff movements and internal changes.
• Drafting and issuing official letters to affected staff members.
• Implementing approved resolutions and administrative decisions within the HR system.
• Conducting exit interviews and providing feedback.
• Managing Persal reports related to the creation or removal of posts and units.
• Extracting and advising on Persal system data for internal and external inquiries.
• Assisting with the compilation of the Office of the Premier’s Employment Equity reports.
