Job Opportunity: ICT Technician

The OR Tambo District Municipality is looking for a qualified and motivated ICT Technician to join our team in Mthatha, Eastern Cape. We are one of the key districts in the Wild Coast Region, dedicated to serving our community with excellence.

Role Overview

The ICT Technician will support the municipality’s technology infrastructure and report directly to the ICT Network Coordinator.

• Position: ICT Technician
• Location: Mthatha, Eastern Cape
• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Annual Salary: R 405,175.50 – R 525,942.27 (Basic salary, excluding benefits)

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A Grade 12 certificate (Matric).
• A National Diploma in Information Technology or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in Information Technology, preferably within a public service or local government environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following areas:

• Assisting with the coordination of strategic and operational plans for the ICT sub-section.
• Managing the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various software applications.
• Overseeing the daily operation of hardware and software devices.
• Contributing to budget estimates and monitoring expenditure to stay within approved limits.
• Handling administrative tasks and preparing regular reports on ICT functionality.
• Coordinating communication and management with internal and external stakeholders.
