Key Responsibilities

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience by performing various entry-level tasks, including:

  • Handling daily administrative tasks and managing unit correspondence.
  • Organizing and maintaining accurate records and filing systems.
  • Assisting with the coordination of department budgets.
  • Gathering information and documentation for audits.
  • Collecting data and helping prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes.
  • Creating at least one professional presentation per quarter.
  • Rotating through different divisions within the department to learn various business functions.

What You Will Learn

During this internship, you will develop the following professional competencies:

  • A deep understanding of how CETA and the broader SETA landscape operate within the public sector.
  • Practical knowledge of the specific functional areas and departments you are assigned to.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant South African laws and frameworks, such as the Skills Development Act, PFMA, Tax laws, and BBBEE.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be under 35 years of age.
  • Must hold a valid South African Identity Document.
  • Must have a relevant qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
  • Must have never participated in a previous SETA-sponsored internship.
  • Must have no previous formal employment experience.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have one of the following qualifications:

  • National Diploma in Business Management or Project Management.
  • National Diploma, BTech, or Degree in Office Administration, Accounting, Public Administration, or Business Administration.
  • National Diploma in Management Assistant/Administration or an equivalent qualification.
