The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) provides essential skills development services to the construction sector. Our mission is to implement the National Skills Development Strategy and ensure that workers gain the critical skills needed to make the South African construction industry globally competitive and sustainable.
Role Description
This internship offers graduates the opportunity to gain practical experience within our ICT department. You will be exposed to various functions through a structured rotational plan, allowing you to learn from different divisions within the department. Your progress will be formally reviewed every quarter to support your professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform entry-level technical and functional tasks for the ICT unit.
- Manage correspondence, handle inquiries, and maintain organized records and files.
- Provide administrative support for the unit’s budgeting processes.
- Assist with gathering information for audit preparations.
- Collate data and help prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
- Prepare meeting agendas and take accurate minutes.
- Assist in creating at least one professional presentation per quarter.
- Carry out additional tasks as delegated by supervisors and managers.
Core Competencies
During the internship, you will be expected to develop:
- A clear understanding of CETA’s mandate and the broader SETA landscape.
- Practical and theoretical knowledge specific to the ICT functional area.
- Basic knowledge of relevant laws and frameworks, such as the Skills Development Act, PFMA, and Employment Equity.
Entry Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen under the age of 35.
- Must hold a valid South African Identity Document.
- Must have a relevant qualification from a recognized higher learning institution.
- Must not have participated in any previous SETA-sponsored internship program.
- Must have no prior permanent employment experience.
Required Qualifications
We will consider candidates with the following minimum qualifications:
- National Diploma in ICT or Computer Science.
- Bachelor’s Degree in ICT, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
