Internship: Monitoring, Evaluation and Transformation
The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) provides essential skills development services to the construction sector. Our mission is to implement the National Skills Development Strategy and ensure people gain the critical skills needed to make the construction industry sustainable and globally competitive.
Internship Overview
As an intern in the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Transformation unit, you will gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. You will be exposed to various functions and receive regular reviews to track your progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform entry-level administrative and functional tasks for the unit.
- Handle correspondence, manage enquiries, and maintain organized records and files.
- Provide administrative support for the unit’s budgeting processes.
- Assist with information gathering and preparation for audits.
- Help collate data and prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
- Prepare meeting agendas and take accurate minutes.
- Assist in preparing at least one presentation per quarter.
- Rotate through different divisions within the department to gain a broad understanding of operations.
Core Competencies to be Developed
During your time at CETA, you will be expected to develop:
- A deep understanding of the SETA landscape and CETA’s mandate as a public entity.
- Practical application of theoretical knowledge related to your specific department.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and frameworks, including the Skills Development Act, PFMA, Tax laws, BBBEE, and Employment Equity.
Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen under the age of 35.
- Possess a valid South African Identity Document.
- Hold a relevant post-matric qualification from a recognized institution.
- Must not have participated in any previous SETA-sponsored internship program.
- Must have no previous formal employment experience.
Education Qualifications
We are considering candidates with a BA, BCom, or National Diploma in the following fields:
- Auditing
- Accounting
- Public Administration (or equivalent)
