Position Overview

Job Type: Full-Time / Internship
Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Fields: Public Policy, Research, Law, Development Studies, and Social Sciences

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Housing, Human Settlements, Public Administration, Public Policy, Development Studies, Law, or a related Social Sciences discipline.
  • Must be a resident of the City of Johannesburg.

Primary Function

The successful candidate will help the directorate conduct research and develop policy guidelines. This role involves coordinating stakeholder meetings, managing public participation processes, and providing essential administrative support to the team.

Key Learning Areas

During this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Research: Helping produce high-quality research reports and data analysis.
  • Policy Development: Assisting with the processes involved in creating city-wide policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Supporting the coordination of forums and public discussions.
  • Administration: Learning how to provide effective administrative support within a government environment.
