About the Organization
The South African Diamond & Precious Metals Regulator (SADPMR) is responsible for administering the Diamonds Act and the Precious Metals Act. Our mission is to ensure the diamond and precious metals industries are regulated effectively and fairly.
Purpose of the Internship
This programme aims to provide graduates with essential skills and practical experience in internal auditing, governance, compliance, and risk management. Interns will work under the guidance of experienced auditors and learn to apply professional audit standards in a real-world environment.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A National Diploma, BCom, or Degree in Internal Auditing, Auditing, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Computer Literacy).
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and a strong willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be involved in the following tasks:
- Assisting with internal audits according to the annual audit plan.
- Supporting audit planning, including risk assessments and process mapping.
- Participating in audit fieldwork and data gathering.
- Preparing audit working papers and organizing evidence files.
- Helping to draft audit reports, findings, and recommendations.
- Supporting follow-up audits to track the implementation of corrective actions.
- Maintaining audit records and performing general administrative tasks.
- Maintaining confidentiality and following professional standards.
