The Construction Education Training Authority (CETA) provides essential skills development services to the South African construction sector. Our mission is to implement the National Skills Development Strategy and ensure that the industry has the critical skills needed to remain sustainable and globally competitive.
Role Overview
This is a contract internship based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. Interns will gain hands-on experience by supporting the administrative and secretarial functions of the unit.
Key Responsibilities
During the internship, you will be involved in the following tasks:
- Handling daily administrative and functional tasks for the unit.
- Managing correspondence, responding to enquiries, and maintaining organized filing systems.
- Providing administrative support for the unit’s budgeting processes.
- Assisting with information gathering and preparation for audits.
- Collating data for monthly and quarterly reports.
- Preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes.
- Assisting with the creation of professional presentations.
- Participating in rotational planning to gain exposure to various divisions within the department.
What You Will Learn
Interns will develop professional competencies in the following areas:
- Understanding the SETA landscape and CETA’s role as a public entity.
- Gaining practical knowledge of office administration and department-specific functions.
- Learning about relevant regulatory frameworks, including the Skills Development Act, PFMA, and BBBEE policies.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen under the age of 35.
- Must have a valid South African Identity Document.
- Must hold a relevant post-matric qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
- Must not have participated in any previous SETA-sponsored internship program.
- Must have no previous formal employment experience.
Required Qualifications
We will consider applicants with a Degree or National Diploma in the following fields:
- BA or BCom in Public Administration
- BA or BCom in Business Administration
- BA, BCom, or National Diploma in Business Management
- BTech or National Diploma in Office Administration
