About the Position

The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) is looking for motivated graduates to join our Strategic Support unit as interns. This program is designed to provide hands-on experience and professional development within the construction education sector.

Key Responsibilities

During this internship, you will be exposed to various administrative and functional tasks, including:

  • Handling daily correspondence and responding to enquiries.
  • Maintaining and organizing the unit’s records and filing systems.
  • Assisting with the coordination of budgeting processes.
  • Gathering information to help prepare for audits.
  • Collating data and assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Preparing meeting agendas and taking accurate minutes.
  • Developing at least one professional presentation per quarter.
  • Participating in rotational planning to gain exposure to different divisions within the department.

What You Will Learn

Interns will be expected to grow their skills in the following areas:

  • Sector Knowledge: Understanding the mandate of CETA and the broader SETA landscape in South Africa.
  • Theoretical Application: Applying your academic knowledge to real-world administrative and strategic functions.
  • Regulatory Frameworks: Gaining basic knowledge of applicable laws and policies, such as the Skills Development Act, PFMA, and Employment Equity.

Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must be under 35 years of age.
  • Must hold a relevant qualification from a recognized institution (Bachelor’s Degree, BTech, or National Diploma in Office Administration or Public Administration).
  • Must not have participated in a previous SETA internship program.
  • Must not have been previously employed.
