The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is South Africa’s premier agricultural research institution. We are seeking two hardworking and dedicated individuals to join our team as Labourers in the Applied Animal Breeding division.
Role Overview
As a Labourer, you will support the daily operations of our animal breeding facilities. This role involves physical work and direct interaction with livestock to ensure the health and well-being of the animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain cattle pens and the Grow Safe system.
- Assist with the regular feeding and weighing of bulls.
- Ensure animals are kept clean and handled safely.
- Perform routine manual tasks as required by the management team.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of Grade 10. A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate will be an added advantage.
- Experience: 6 to 12 months of experience working directly with cattle.
- Skills: Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding work and remain active throughout the day.
- Environment: Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Availability: Must be willing to work on weekends and public holidays when necessary.
