Programme Overview
This 12-month professional learnership is designed to develop competent, entry-level technicians. The programme provides a mix of classroom learning, practical skills development, and supervised workplace experience. It is aligned with the QCTO Occupational Qualification 103269 and aims to prepare learners for successful careers in Facilities Management and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
What You Will Learn
- Fundamentals of HVAC principles and systems.
- How to install and commission unitary HVAC systems.
- Essential Occupational Health and Safety standards, including safety when working at heights.
- Basic mechanical and electrical skills.
- Correct tool usage and fault identification.
- Workplace professionalism and compliance.
Requirements
To be considered for this programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Must have a Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science (compulsory), or an NQF Level 4, 5, or 6 qualification.
- Age: Between 18 and 34 years old.
- Physical Fitness: Must be in good physical health and medically fit for technical site work.
- Working at Heights: Must be comfortable working at heights (full training will be provided).
- Technical Aptitude: A basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Attitude: A strong willingness to learn and a hands-on approach to working with tools and equipment in plant rooms, rooftops, and construction environments.

Certification
