Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) is a water board established under the Water Services Act. We provide bulk water supply and related services across the Limpopo Province, operating several water purification works and supply schemes.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for creating and managing training programs that support our strategic goals, business needs, and employment equity plans.
Minimum Requirements
- A Degree in Human Resource Management (specializing in Learning and Development), Industrial Psychology, or General Human Resources Management.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in Learning and Development, including at least 2 years at a supervisory level.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Added Advantage: A Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology and registration with relevant professional bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Training & Planning: Conduct training needs analyses and develop learning programs aligned with company objectives and employment equity plans.
- Facilitation: Lead learning and development programs according to current legislation to meet both individual and organizational needs.
- Policy Management: Create, maintain, and monitor learning and development policies to ensure they stay aligned with business strategies.
- Induction & Workshops: Conduct induction courses for new hires and refresher workshops for existing staff and management.
- Budget & Risk: Manage the learning and development budget and identify potential risks within your area of responsibility.
- Employment Equity: Research and implement employment equity initiatives in line with national legislation.
- Reporting: Submit regular reports on training progress, performance management, and capacity building.
- Bursary Management: Monitor and manage the company’s bursary program to ensure it supports the business strategy.
- Evaluation: Evaluate all training programs to ensure the organization receives a positive return on investment.
- Compliance: Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all company policies and ethical codes.
