The AGSA is a constitutional institution that supports South African democracy by auditing and reporting on how the government spends public money. We are looking for a dedicated Learning Development Specialist to help shape the future of our workforce.

Role Overview

As a Learning Development Specialist, you will design and improve professional learnership and training programs. Your goal is to create high-impact learning journeys that help our employees gain professional qualifications and stay prepared for the future of work. You will also lead special projects and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our training meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Design and Innovation

  • Research and develop training programs that align with professional standards and future work trends.
  • Create engaging learning content using tools like Articulate 360, Canva, and Vyond.
  • Manage digital learning platforms, including Moodle (LMS) and LinkedIn Learning.
  • Design “user-friendly” learning experiences that help trainees navigate their professional growth easily.
  • Implement induction programs to help new employees integrate smoothly into the organization.

2. Project and Financial Management

  • Create and manage project schedules, milestones, and budgets.
  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to management.
  • Ensure all learning activities are completed on time and within the allocated budget.

3. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external professional bodies.
  • Provide expert advice on learning strategies and organizational growth.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to identify performance gaps and improve training services.

4. Leadership and People Management

  • Oversee the Young Professionals Leadership Forum.
  • Manage the HR Internship program, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews.
  • Support senior management with various people-related tasks and transformation plans.

Requirements

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Marketing, Business (Finance/Commercial), or Project Management.
  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is a plus.

Experience:

  • 5–7 years of experience in Human Resources or Learning and Development.
  • At least 3 years of experience specifically designing specialized training programs governed by professional or regulatory bodies.
  • Experience in finance-related sectors (banking, auditing, or consulting) is an advantage.
