Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Life Cosmos Hospital. In this role, you will ensure that the hospital’s building and electrical infrastructure are well-maintained and fully operational to support our quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day maintenance issues and general enquiries from staff and doctors.
  • Execute repairs and maintenance tasks according to job cards and instructions from the Engineering Manager.
  • Perform daily inspections of medical gas alarm systems and record gas levels.
  • Inspect and maintain vacuum pumps, medical air compressors, plumbing, and general equipment.
  • Follow the maintenance schedule for air conditioning units and filters.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on time.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate (Matric).
  • Minimum N3 or equivalent qualification in a mechanical field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in hospital maintenance (including plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electrical work).
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards (NOSA and OHSA).
  • Ability to work under pressure and perform standby duties when required.
