Role Overview

The Material Picker is responsible for selecting and delivering the materials needed by production. This role ensures that all materials are available, accurate, and compliant with GMP and 5S standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile handover stock and store incoming materials.
• Pick requisitions for materials from various departments.
• Complete Syspro transactions before sending goods to production.
• Perform ongoing stock reconciliation and cycle counting.
• Control inventory and conduct stock takes in the area of responsibility.
• Check minimum stock levels and liaise with Procurement to replenish stock.
• Maintain GMP and 5S compliance in all areas.
• Process issues and returns of printing filters and foil to and from production.
• Supply requested stock for batches as per production schedules.
• Receive returns of raw materials, components, and printed packaging from production and move them to dedicated areas.
• Transport empty plastic pallets, cages, glass reject bins, and printed packaging wheelie bins to the bin washing area.
• Notify the waste assistant of any waste received from production.
• Record all stock item movements in the official logbook according to GRK requirements.
• Move pallets received via lift to the correct demarcated areas.
• Place all fridge items inside the fridge and record details in the fridge logbook.
• Cover weekend shifts as required by production.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the area of responsibility.
• Perform other tasks within the department/factory that match the grade, qualification, and training of the incumbent.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 12.
• 1–2 years of warehouse experience.
• Fork‑lift licence.
• Ability to obtain and use the electronic Picking List.
• Identify which components/consumables/materials on the Picking List are the Material Picker’s responsibility and locate them.
• Knowledge of the location of various components within the aisles.
• Operate a turret truck or electric pallet jack to collect materials from aisles.
