Minimum Requirements
- An appropriate medical qualification that allows for registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
- Current registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
- A valid driver’s license (Code B/EB).
- Willingness to work after hours.
Experience Requirements
Experience levels are categorized into three grades based on your years of service after registration:
Grade 1:
- SA Qualified: No experience required after registration.
- Foreign Qualified: 1 year of experience after registration with a recognized foreign council (for those not required to perform Community Service in South Africa).
Grade 2:
- SA Qualified: At least 5 years of experience after registration with the HPCSA.
- Foreign Qualified: At least 6 years of experience after registration with a recognized foreign council.
Grade 3:
- SA Qualified: At least 10 years of experience after registration with the HPCSA.
- Foreign Qualified: At least 11 years of experience after registration with a recognized foreign council.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective management, supervisory, and decision-making abilities.
- Working knowledge of current medical legislation and public service policies.
- Experience in a district hospital or Primary Health Care (PHC) setting.
