Job Description

The Service Advisor is responsible for delivering prompt, high‑quality service to customers. Acting as the bridge between the technical team and the customer, the advisor ensures cost‑effective repairs and excellent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers warmly and make them feel valued.
  • Listen carefully to understand customers’ service needs.
  • Prepare accurate service estimates and sell routine maintenance or repair services.
  • Explain service details clearly to customers and involve technicians when needed.
  • Promote all available products and services to maximize customer awareness.
  • Build collaborative relationships internally and externally to speed up service delivery.
  • Schedule appointments, answer phones, and respond to queries.
  • Coordinate alternate transportation, car rentals, or shuttle services as required.
  • Maintain accurate records: service sheets, invoices, job cards, warranty claims, authorisations, etc.
  • Keep the customer database up to date with contact details and service history.
  • Help the dealership meet industry standards for process efficiency and service excellence.
  • Foster high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty to encourage repeat business.
  • Handle customer complaints effectively using the CRM system.
  • Continuously update personal knowledge to stay current with vehicle models, warranties, and OEM updates.
  • Participate in team meetings, share feedback, and implement improvements.
  • Attend OEM training courses and other development opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Matric (high school diploma).
  • Valid, unendorsed driver’s licence and ability to drive competently.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of dealership policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of the competitive motor industry.
  • Basic numeracy skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant operating systems is an advantage.
