Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Operational Ambulance Emergency Assistant to join our team in Cape Town, Western Cape. The primary purpose of this role is to respond to emergency calls and provide intermediate medical care according to your professional scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain operational readiness to respond to emergency calls quickly.
- Provide high-quality patient care following established medical protocols.
- Represent ER24 professionally and maintain a positive image within the community.
- Ensure all medical equipment and vehicles are in good working order.
Requirements
Education:
- Required: Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate or a Higher Certificate in Emergency Medical Care.
- Preferred: Completion of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) training from the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Candidates not yet compliant with CPG will be required to complete this training during their probation period.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
- Experience in Intermediate Life Support (ILS) is highly desirable.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of HPCSA guidelines and medical scope of practice.
- Knowledge of local travel routes and geographical areas in Cape Town.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to accurately complete Patient Report Forms.
