Role Overview

As a Personnel Practitioner, you will play a vital role in our Human Resource Management Services. You will manage recruitment processes, maintain employee records, and assist with HR planning and systems to ensure the department operates efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the recruitment and selection process, including appointments and probation periods.
  • Update and maintain employee information and establishment details on the PERSAL system.
  • Process employee transfers, secondments, grade progressions, and translations.
  • Support HR planning, information management, and systems reporting.

Requirements

  • A National Senior Certificate plus a recognized undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in Human Resource Management, Public Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of experience working in a Human Resource Management environment.
  • A valid PERSAL certificate or official PERSAL results.

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical Knowledge: A deep understanding of the rules, regulations, and legislative frameworks governing the South African Public Service.
  • Core Skills: Strong planning, organizing, and time management abilities.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage group dynamics and negotiations.
  • Digital Literacy: Proficient in computer use and HR information systems.
  • Leadership: Strong people management and change management skills.
