Job Opportunity: Pharmacy Shop Assistant (2 Positions)

The Shoprite Group, Africa’s largest retailer, is looking for two motivated Pharmacy Shop Assistants to join the Medirite Plus team at Sandown Crossing. We are seeking customer-focused individuals who are hardworking, adaptable, and ready to contribute to a professional retail environment.

Role Purpose

The Pharmacy Shop Assistant ensures the store runs smoothly by providing excellent service to our customers. You will be responsible for greeting visitors, organizing displays, processing transactions, and helping customers find the products that best suit their needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer payments and balance sales using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, promotions, and special offers.
• Restock shelves and organize the sales floor according to store standards.
• Perform regular price audits to ensure all items are priced correctly.
• Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and store housekeeping.
• Handle customer inquiries professionally and escalate complex issues to management.

Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Experience: At least 5 months of experience operating a till or Point of Sale (POS) system in a retail environment.
• Sales History: A proven track record in retail sales, including working on the sales floor.

Skills and Attributes

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Bilingualism (Fluency in English and Afrikaans is preferred).
• Basic computer literacy.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of retail procedures, including stock receiving and payment processing (cash, cards, and vouchers).
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
