Job Opportunity: Pikitup General Workers (400 Positions)
Pikitup is looking for 400 hardworking and dedicated individuals to join our team as General Workers. This role is essential for keeping the City of Johannesburg clean, safe, and healthy for all residents. This is a physically demanding position that requires discipline and a commitment to public service.
Primary Responsibilities
As a General Worker, your main task will be to maintain cleanliness across the city. Key duties include:
- Sweeping streets, cleaning pavements, and maintaining public areas.
- Collecting and stacking refuse bags in designated spots.
- Delivering, collecting, and checking refuse bins for damage.
- Picking up litter and flushing lanes.
- Assisting with carcass removal and general maintenance.
- Following all safety and operational procedures.
- Wearing required protective clothing at all times.
- Working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Minimum of a Grade 10 qualification.
- Experience: At least 12 months of experience in cleaning or general labor.
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
- Residency: Must currently reside within the City of Johannesburg.
- Documentation: Ability to provide proof of residence (such as a utility bill or affidavit).
- Background: No criminal record.
- Health: Must be physically and mentally fit to perform manual labor.
Required Skills and Competencies
