We are currently looking for a qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant to join our team at the Jean Avenue store in Centurion.

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the patient’s medicine-related needs. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide professional pharmaceutical care and ensure that all pharmacy operations run smoothly and legally.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification.
• Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• Working experience using the Unisolv system.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong numerical skills and English language proficiency.
• Ability to work retail hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the sale and distribution of Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines.
• Prepare, compound, and label non-sterile medicines according to approved formulas.
• Interpret prescriptions accurately and capture patient details on the system.
• Pick, pack, and label medication while checking for correct dosages and drug interactions.
• Provide patients with clear instructions on how to use their medication correctly.
• Process medical aid claims, handle script rejections, and manage chronic medication authorizations.
• Assist with stock control, including ordering, receiving, and performing bi-annual stock takes.
• Maintain accurate customer profiles and follow up on script tracking reports.
• Advise customers in the dispensary and front-shop areas.
