We are currently looking for a professional and dedicated Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant to join our team at The Grove store in Nelspruit.

Role Overview

In this role, you will provide essential pharmaceutical care by managing patients’ medicine-related needs. You will be responsible for ensuring that all pharmaceutical services are delivered accurately, safely, and professionally.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
  • Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification.
  • Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • Proven experience working with the Unisolv system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and a second language.
  • Ability to work retail hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines.
  • Prepare, compound, and package non-sterile medications according to approved formulas and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage stock levels for Schedule 1 through Schedule 5 medications and assist with ordering up to Schedule 6.
  • Accurately interpret and process prescriptions, ensuring patient details are verified in the system.
  • Pick, pack, and label medications while checking for potential drug interactions and correct dosages.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients on how to use their medication correctly.
  • Process medical aid claims, handle script rejections, and obtain authorizations for chronic medications.
  • Maintain accurate customer profiles and assist with bi-annual stock takes.
  • Ensure all dispensed medications are checked and signed off by a pharmacist.
