The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking a dedicated Professional Engineer to join our team in the Eastern Cape. This role focuses on managing and delivering infrastructure projects for various provincial departments, contributing to our vision of providing world-class public service and a better life for all citizens.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: A National Senior Certificate and a University Degree in Engineering (B.Eng or B.Sc Eng).
- Experience: At least three (3) years of post-qualification experience in the engineering field.
- Professional Registration: Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer.
- License: A valid driver’s license is required.
Required Knowledge and Skills
The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of the following:
- Relevant government legislation, including the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and the Public Service Act.
- Departmental policies, procedures, and government programs.
- Technical report writing and information management.
- Strategic management and project management principles.
- Computer literacy and professional conduct standards.
