Professional Nurse Grade 1 (General Nursing)

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• A Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
• A basic qualification accredited by the South African Nursing Council (SANC), such as a Diploma or Degree in General Nursing.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse for 2026.

Key Responsibilities

As a Professional Nurse, your duties will include:

• Providing clinical nursing care in line with official nursing standards and the scope of practice.
• Promoting high-quality care and participating in the National Core Standards and Ideal Hospital Realization Framework.
• Communicating effectively with patients, supervisors, and other medical professionals.
• Writing clear reports and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best patient outcomes.
• Working cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and religions.
• Organizing your own work and supervising support staff to ensure proper patient care.
• Advocating for patients and following the Batho Pele principles (putting people first).
• Managing the resources and equipment allocated to your unit efficiently.
