Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- A Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
- A Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), such as a Diploma or Degree in General Nursing.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Key Responsibilities
As a Professional Nurse, your duties will include:
- Providing clinical nursing care in line with official nursing standards and legal scopes of practice.
- Ensuring high-quality care by following the National Core Standards and the Ideal Hospital Realization Framework.
- Communicating effectively with patients, supervisors, and other medical staff.
- Writing clear reports and working as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
- Providing compassionate care that respects the diverse cultural and religious backgrounds of all patients.
- Upholding the “Batho Pele” principles by advocating for patient needs and expectations.
- Planning and organizing your work and supporting staff to ensure efficient patient care.
- Managing the resources and equipment allocated to your unit effectively.
