Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• A Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
• A basic nursing qualification (Diploma or Degree in General Nursing) that allows for registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
• Current registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Providing clinical nursing care in line with official standards and the professional scope of practice.
• Maintaining high-quality care by participating in the implementation of National Core Standards and the Ideal Hospital Framework.
• Communicating effectively with patients, supervisors, and other medical professionals.
• Writing clear reports and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Working respectfully with people from diverse cultural, racial, and religious backgrounds.
• Planning and organizing nursing care for patients and supervising support staff.
• Advocating for patient needs and upholding “Batho Pele” principles (putting people first).
• Managing unit resources and equipment efficiently.
