Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

• A Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
• A Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). This includes a Diploma or Degree in General Nursing.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.

Key Responsibilities

As a Professional Nurse, your duties will include:

• Providing clinical nursing care according to established standards and the official scope of practice.
• Promoting high-quality nursing care and participating in the implementation of National Core Standards.
• Communicating effectively with patients, supervisors, and other medical staff.
• Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients receive the best care.
• Planning and organizing your own work and supervising support staff.
• Advocating for patient needs and providing care based on “Batho Pele” principles (putting people first).
• Managing the resources and equipment allocated to your unit efficiently.
