Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- A Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
- A Basic qualification accredited with the South African Nursing Council (SANC). This includes a Diploma or Degree in General Nursing.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Key Responsibilities
As a Professional Nurse, your duties will include:
- Providing clinical nursing care according to established standards and the official scope of practice.
- Promoting high-quality nursing care and participating in the implementation of National Core Standards.
- Communicating effectively with patients, supervisors, and other medical staff.
- Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patients receive the best care.
- Planning and organizing your own work and supervising support staff.
- Advocating for patient needs and providing care based on “Batho Pele” principles (putting people first).
- Managing the resources and equipment allocated to your unit efficiently.
