Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Professional Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). In this role, you will provide age-appropriate nursing care in accordance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) scope of practice. You will be responsible for managing critically ill patients, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care within the legal scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
• Manage and monitor patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
• Lead and supervise junior nursing staff within the ward.
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and clinical regulations.
• Address patient needs and resolve complaints effectively.
• Maintain accurate patient records and care plans.

Minimum Requirements

• Current registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse with a valid APC.
• Specialized qualification or intensive training in ICU nursing.
• Proven experience in nursing ventilated patients.
• Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
• A qualification in Midwifery will be considered an advantage.
