Job Opportunity: Professional Nurse – Scrub Nurse

Key Responsibilities
As a Scrub Nurse, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care within the operating theater. Your duties will include:
- Practicing as a Registered Nurse within your professional scope.
- Following all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Supervising and supporting staff members within the theater unit.
- Managing the handling and scheduling of drugs according to legal requirements.
- Overseeing equipment maintenance and identifying needs for new equipment.
- Providing training and guidance to other staff members in the unit.
- Ensuring the theater environment always meets the highest operational standards.
- Complying with SANC regulations and all relevant healthcare legislation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse with a valid APC.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Scrub Nurse in a theater environment.
- Ideally, theater-trained or holding a relevant qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with doctors, patients, and colleagues.
- Willingness to work additional hours when required.
- Proficiency in basic computer programs, including MS Word and Excel.
