Project & Organisational Performance Monitoring Officer

Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) is a Water Board established under the Water Services Act. We are a bulk water supply and related services provider operating several purification works and supply schemes across the Limpopo Province.

Minimum Requirements

  • A National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Public Management and Administration.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in Project and Organisational Performance, including 2 years at a supervisory level.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Added Advantage: A Post-graduate Diploma or Honours Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) or a Programme in Project Management.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Performance Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, the successful candidate will handle the following duties:

Project Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Monitor project activities, spending, and progress toward goals.
  • Evaluate the long-term sustainability of project results.
  • Assess and improve existing monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Develop clear indicators and strategies to measure project success.
  • Recommend improvements to project frameworks.
  • Support the evaluation of project impacts and provide feedback to Project Managers.

Reporting & Strategy

  • Prepare data and statistics for monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
  • Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops.
  • Coordinate the development of the 5-year Strategic Plan in line with National Treasury frameworks.
  • Assist in developing the Departmental Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Monitor the implementation of the AOP to ensure all yearly targets are met.

Data Management & Compliance

  • Conduct information sessions with departments regarding new reporting requirements.
  • Build internal capacity for monitoring and evaluation, including data quality auditing.
  • Develop a data management system to track key activities effectively.
  • Analyze data from technical milestones and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure all activities comply with company policies, code of ethics, and confidentiality standards.
