Role Overview
The Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) is looking for a Psychometric Assessment Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide professional assessment services that support our people strategy. You will focus on the full talent value chain—attracting, developing, and retaining high-quality employees through modern assessment and development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment Management
- Conduct psychometric assessments to assist with recruitment and staff development.
- Interpret and validate assessment results and write comprehensive reports.
- Provide professional feedback to candidates and management.
- Create and update new assessment exercises, tools, and processes.
- Ensure all assessment activities follow ethical standards and HPCSA regulations.
- Educate managers on the value of using assessment centers for decision-making.
- Mentor and manage psychometric interns.
Administration and Reporting
- Coordinate the assessment schedule and manage candidate workflows.
- Manage online assessment platforms and maintain highly confidential records.
- Provide management with regular reports on assessment trends and statistics.
- Assist with procurement processes for assessment tools and services.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and external service providers.
- Provide training and information sessions to stakeholders regarding assessment functions.
- Collaborate with other HR experts to ensure consistent service across the organization.
Requirements
Education and Professional Registration
- Minimum of an Honours degree in Industrial Psychology, Psychology, or a related field.
- Must be currently registered as a Psychometrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- Commitment to continuous professional development as required by the HPCSA.
Experience
- At least five years of experience in a Human Resources environment.
- Specifically, at least three years of experience working within an assessment or talent center with a focus on psychometry.
