Key Responsibilities

As a Public Education Specialist, your primary duties will include:

• Developing and managing public education and participation programs.
• Creating educational content and materials for the public.
• Planning and carrying out public outreach initiatives.
• Monitoring and evaluating the success of educational programs.
• Supervising assigned staff members.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Communication, Education, Political Studies, Public Administration, Social Development, Community Development, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in public participation, community education, and curriculum design.
• A valid Code B Driver’s Licence.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Successful candidates should demonstrate the following:

• Proven ability in workshop facilitation and training delivery.
• Advanced skills in curriculum development and project management.
• Strong research, analysis, and report-writing abilities.
• High level of digital literacy, including MS365, AI tools, and digital learning platforms.

• A deep understanding of South Africa’s socio-political landscape and parliamentary processes.
• Ability to work effectively within a sensitive political environment.
