The Judicial Inspectorate for Correctional Services (JICS) is an independent oversight body. Our mission is to monitor correctional operations within the Department of Correctional Services and ensure the rights of all incarcerated individuals are protected. JICS reports directly to the Minister of Correctional Services and the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Grade 12/Senior Certificate plus a 3-year tertiary qualification in Criminal Justice or a related field (NQF Level 6).
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, specifically in conducting interviews, taking official statements, and collecting evidence.
- Driving: A valid, unendorsed driver’s license is mandatory.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively on short notice, including weekends.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and at least one other official language.
