Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support our Research & Development, Quality Control, and Production departments. The successful candidate will assist in developing new products, maintaining essential laboratory cultures, and ensuring our facilities meet international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Laboratory Support: Prepare and maintain cell and bacterial cultures for experiments and production.
• Research & Development: Assist researchers with routine assays, serological tests, and technical support for new product development.
• Supply Management: Prepare reagents and growth media. Manage the ordering and collection of laboratory consumables, gas cylinders, and raw materials.
• Maintenance: Ensure lab equipment remains efficient and maintain a sterile, clean working environment.
• Compliance & Safety: Adhere to ISO, GLP, GMP, and GCP quality standards. Follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations and company policies.
• Administration: Complete all required administrative duties and document processes in line with regulatory requirements.
• Risk Management: Help identify and manage departmental risks and ensure operational controls are updated as regulations change.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Diploma in Biological and Veterinary Sciences (NQF Level 6).
• Experience: At least 2 years of practical experience working in a bacterial and cell culture laboratory.
• Skills: Strong understanding of laboratory protocols, sterile techniques, and quality compliance.
