About the Department
The South African Department of Traditional Affairs (DTA) is a national department responsible for overseeing and supporting the institution of traditional leadership. The DTA works to ensure traditional leaders are active partners in governance and development. It also coordinates policies, promotes indigenous law, and serves the needs of traditional and Khoi-San communities.
Role Overview
The department is looking for a qualified Researcher to join their team. This role involves conducting social science and historical research to support the department’s objectives regarding traditional and Khoi-San leadership.
Requirements
- Qualification: A Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Social Sciences, Anthropology, History, Political Studies, Public or Development Studies, or Public Policy.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in social sciences, anthropological research, or historical and genealogical services.
- Licensing: A valid driver’s license is required.
- Language: Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
