Retail Store Assistant – Umhlanga (New Store)

Role Summary
We are looking for a dedicated Retail Store Assistant to join our team at the new store in The Crescent, Umhlanga. In this role, you will support the overall management of the store, ensuring that daily operations and administrative tasks are completed according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Retail Store Assistant, your duties will include:
- Providing excellent customer service and resolving stock queries or complaints professionally.
- Managing point-of-sale activities, including handling floats, cash reconciliations, and managing shorts or overs.
- Processing refunds and managing the return of goods.
- Verifying deliveries and invoices to ensure complete accuracy.
- Assisting the Receiving Manager with Distribution Centre claims and documentation.
- Controlling and managing high-risk stock.
- Preparing daily run reconciliations and ensuring cashiers have sufficient change.
- Maintaining accurate records for petty cash and general store administration.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Previous experience with SAP is highly advantageous.
- Prior experience in a retail environment.
- South African citizenship with a clear criminal and credit record.
- A valid driver’s license and/or reliable transport.
