Role Overview

The Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness is looking for a dedicated Senior Administrative Officer to join the Finance team. This role focuses on financial administration, expenditure management, and overseeing patient records and revenue systems.

Key Requirements

  • Education: A three-year National Diploma or Degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in financial and expenditure management, as well as revenue management.
  • Administrative Skills: Practical experience in patient administration and medical records management.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience using BAS, LOGIS, CLINICOM, and AR systems.
  • Leadership: Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Licensing: A valid driver’s license (Code B/EB).

Core Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of financial legislative frameworks, including the PFMA and National Treasury Regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of SCOA codes and accounting processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
